William married Mary Ann Newman on 11th June 1856 at Launceston, Tasmania, Australia William and Mary had 12 children Sarah Yates Alfred Yates Arthur Yates Mabel Yates Catherine Yates


Death and Burial

William died at the age of 70 on 3rd December 1900 in Longford, Tasmania, Australia. He is buried in the Longford Methodist Cemetery in Tasmania
