Martin Brodie come from the family of Brodies that founded the town of Fayetteville, ak. Martins father was a surgeon in the Rev. war. they paid him in property is how he got the property to found the town.anyway back to Martha, she then had my grandmother, Minnie Leah Brodie. Martin was a school teacher and live in a room in Marthas parents home. Martha and Martin married. we have a picture of them. anyway Martins family wasn't happy about him not going to school and becoming a doctor like the rest of the boys so they ordered him home. He asked Martha to leave her 3 children with her parents and go with him. She wouldn't do it. so he left her and went home and became a doctor. we aren't sure that they divorced when or where. but Martha remarried actually 3 more times. she didn't have any luck with men. she had 2 more children....Abner Hope, and Fanny Mae Bryan. Ella Mae married Robert Wesley Hope and they had 4 daughters ; Georgia Novelle, born 1898, waco,tx. died 1956 buried in Washington, dc. .
