Millicent Yates who was cousin of and first wife to Henry Yates. Millicent was the daughter of John Marshall Yates and Nancy Ann Coleman. Millicent was born in Caroline Co., VA and died in Warsaw, Gallatin, KY. They had 11 children, including Illinois Governor Richard Yates (1861-1865). Her son Richard Yates (1815-1873) a Governor of Illinois & a U.S. Senator, was a lifelong collector of family records and left a large collection of his family charts and papers (see Collections, Kentucky Historical Society). His mother, whose name he listed as Millicent Coleman Yates married Henry Yates, Sr.. Parents of 11 children, the youngest, Henry Hawes Yates, born 10 Nov 1829. Millicent never recovered from the birth of this, her 11th child. She lingered and passed away spring of 1830. She was buried in the Rudd Cemetery, Warsaw, Gallatin Co., Kentucky, USA, where Richard had a stone placed in her memory, he wrote. Perhaps her body was moved to the Berlin Cemetery or a memorial stone erected there
