Wesley Francis Yates, son of James H. Yates and Matilda (Auberry or Avery) Yates, was born on 12 Nov. 1852 at Washington County, Kentucky. He was a farm laborer when he appeared on the census of 24 Aug. 1870 in the home of his parents at Fredericksburg, Washington County, Kentucky.
He married Emily Elizabeth Nally, daughter of John Benedict Nally and Susannah Ann (Hinton) Nally. on 27 Sep. 1880 at Washington County, Kentucky.
Wesley died on 21 July 1934 at Holy Cross, Marion County, Kentucky and was buried at Saint Rose Cemetery, Springfield, Washington County, Kentucky. His memorial has a photo, a copy of his death certificate and links to those of family members.
