Katherine "Kitty" Yates, daughter of George Duncan Yates and Emily H. Eglin, was born on 9 Aug. 1867 at Day Center, Saratoga County, New York.[1]
She married Fred E. Perkins, son of Jesse Perkins and Julia Ann (Ferguson) Perkins, 12 Sep 1890 in Northville, Fulton Co., New York.[2]
Kitty died on 1 May 1924 at Iola, Allen County, Kansas and was buried at Gas City Cemetery, Gas, Allen County, Kansas. Her memorial has a photo of her headstone shared with Fred and links to those of family members.[1]
Note: There is shared DNA between descendants of Francis Bird and descendants of Catalyntje Schermerhorn. Catalyntje Schermerhorn Dods is the 3rd great grandmother of Katherine "Kitty" Yates Perkins. In the Byrd samples it can be traced to Francis' wife, Rhoda Schermerhorn, though the exact line of descent is unclear.
