Biography

Ernest was born in 1875. He was the son of Clement Yates and Anne Kate.[1]

Christening Date: 14 July 1875
Christening Place: St. Mary-de-Lode's Church, Gloucester, Gloucester, England[2]

He emigrated from England to South Africa where at the age of 26 he married 25 year old Ellen Davey on 2 July 1901 at St Patrick's Church, Umzinto, Natal, South Africa. His occupation was recorded as Schoolmaster.[3] (His brother Clement Arthur Yates probably emigrated with him.)

They had four children.

He passed away in 1933 at the age of 58.[4]
