Biography

Richard was born about 1737. He passed away in 1808.

His daughters Catherine m. George Pollock and Sophia m. Carlisle Pollock.

There are portraits by Gilbert Stuart of Richard Yates and his wife, and also of George Pollock and his wife. In addition, there is a portrait of George's brother-in-law, Dr. William Hartigan, by Gilbert Stuart, and a portrait of his wife (George's sister), Betsy (Pollock) Hartigan, that is sometimes also attributed to Gilbert Stuart.
