When William Harvey Yates was born on December 17, 1873,[1] in Platte, Missouri, his father, Harvey, was 39 and his mother, Georgia, was 28. He married Margaret 'Maggie' May Jacks (1876–1955) on March 10, 1897, in his hometown.[2] They had six children:
Maggie died on March 26, 1955 and William died on January 15, 1957, in St Joseph, Missouri,[7] at the age of 83, and was buried in Platte City, Missouri.[8]
