Biography
When William Harvey Yates was born on December 17, 1873,[1] in Platte, Missouri, his father, Harvey, was 39 and his mother, Georgia, was 28. He married Margaret 'Maggie' May Jacks (1876–1955) on March 10, 1897, in his hometown.[2] They had six children:
- William Harvey (Yates) Gates, Jr. (1900–1968)
- Ada May Yates (1907–)
- Elizabeth 'Libby' Yates (1909–1984)
- Howard Gibson Yates / Gates (1912–1998)[3]
- Franklin 'Frank' C. Yates (1916–2000)[4][5]
- Grace Yates (1919–1992)[6]
Maggie died on March 26, 1955 and William died on January 15, 1957, in St Joseph, Missouri,[7] at the age of 83, and was buried in Platte City, Missouri.[8]
