Biography

Marion Cullen Yates was born 14 Jan 1913. He was the son of Jay Yates and Willie Diamond. He passed away on 4 June 1913.

On 7 Feb 1913, there was a small newspaper blurb in the Big Sandy News which stated:

Fallsburg

The stork visited Jay Yates and wife and left a fine boy.[1]

On 20 Jun 1913, there was a short notice of his death in The Big Sandy News.

Yatesville

The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Yates took sick and died very suddenly last week. Its remains were interred on Deep Hole Branch at the widow Diamond graveyard.[2]

His obituary follows:

In Loving Remembrance

Our Heavenly Father saw fit in his infinite wisdom and love to call from the home of Jay Yates and wife on June 4, their darling baby, George Marion Cullen. He had lived with them only four months and ten days, when Jesus called him to his Heavenly home. Jesus has said: "Suffer the little ones to come unto Me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." Father and Mother, Little Cullen is now basking in the sunlight of Jesus, where there will be no more parting, sickness, pain or death. So live dear sorrowing friends that when thy summons come you will meet and live with Cullen beyond death's sea.

Interment was held at the Diamond Graveyard, R. F. Rice officiated.
