Mary was born about 1751, estimated from marriage.
She married Joseph Belfield at Alstonfield on 12 February 1776. Marriage by banns, both of that parish, both marked. Witnesses Thomas Millward and John Gilbert.
They lived at Sheen, a few miles away, after their marriage, and their first two children were born there. By 1783 they had four children and were living at Leekfrith where their youngest child Jeremiah was born. But they fell on hard times and a Poor Law removal order was made on 27 June 1783 to return them to Fawfieldhead, the township where Joseph had been born. The children were named on the order as Isaac, Joseph, Samuel, and Jeremiah.
Mary died in 1805 and was buried at Longnor on 18 August 1805, "Mary Belfield, Shawfield".
