Mrs Louisa Swearingen, wife of W.H. Swearingen, died at her home, two miles east of Science Hill. Monday at 7 p.m. She was 78 years of age, and leaves a husband, and two sisters, Mrs. Lola Eastham, of Summerset, and Mrs. Amanda Newell, of Stafford County, Kansas, two sons, Chas. and Manzel Swearingen of near Science Hill; also another son John D. Fletcher, of Illinois, by a former marriage.
Mrs. Searingen was a woman highly esteemed in the neighborhood in which she lived and was widely known over Pulaski County. She will be sadly missed by the many relatives and friends who have admired her noble life and Christian character.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.C. Taylor of Burnside at Union Church, yesterday afternoon.
