Medieval project at Dunstable unearthed much property across seven counties owned by the Augustinian priory. One large gift was from Gaufridus le Cauceis in 1205 of churches, tithes, property and land including lead mines in Derbyshire. The priory kept and expanded this property until 1540. Gaufridus also had manors at Bow Brickhill, Bucks.
My Fitzjohn interest is a family one, and they were farming in Walkern, Hertfordshire from late 1600s if not before.
