Mrs. Dorothy (Yates) Yokley, 83, of 306 Cherry Street, Mount Airy, died Thursday night at her home after several months of declining health. She was the widow of John Bruce Yokley.
Born June 11, 1901 in Biscoe, she was the daughter of William Simms and Annie (Horton) Yates and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Airy.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Nichols and her husband Thomas of Charlotte, Mrs. Jo Thomas and her husband P. A. of High Point, and Mrs. Bruce Maimo and her husband G. M. of Mount Airy, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
A daughter, MIss Marjorie Yates Yokley, died in 1967.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Julian M. Aldridge Jr. and Dr. Al Miller officating.
Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy.
Mrs. Yokley's body has been carried to the home where is will remain until return to the funeral chapel for the service.
