Francis Benjamin (or Benjamin as he was known) was born in Loudoun County, Virginia on August 14, 1794. He was the son of James Yates and Lucy Partlow.
At the age of 22, Benjamin married Elizabeth Jury on March 21, 1817, in Culpeper, Culpeper, Virginia, when she was 18 years old.
Following the death of his first wife, Benjamin married Mary Brandon.
Benjamin died in Culpeper County, Virginia on April 25, 1879, at the age of 42. He was buried at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Reva, Culpeper, Virginia.[1]
