Biography
From Find A Grave:
- Fourth son of David Yaugh/Yaw/Yeaw and his wife Jean. Amos was born in Marblehead, raised in Scituate Rl, and moved to Vermont in the days of the Revolutionary War. He and his two older sons favored New York's claims over the Vermont territory. His wife mary Franklin is believed to have had a common ancestry with Benjamin Franklin. She died in Guilford in 1813, but no grave located to date.
- Amos used the YAW spelling of the family name, though most of his descendants reverted to the YEAW spelling. Amos and Mary had six surviving children: Moses, Amos Jr., Patience, Mary, Joseph, and John.
