Biography

Evidence compairing my direct line (2nd great grandmother) DNA to Yawn descendants, I match directly to James Yawn (15 Aug 1795-10 Dec 1875) but only as half-cousin to descendants of either Lucy Poole or Margaret Pitts. Paper records discovered by my mother in the book Double Cousins showed this Elizabeth Yawn as an orphan. Rev. Dee Graham (I do have a tree here and I believe there is a link to my GEDmatch DNA, but a more complete tree is available in Double Cousins.)

Simeon Sheffield was from Bulloch County, Ga prior to emigrating to Florida. Any additional information that might clarify Elizabeth's lineage would be appreciated.

My DNA results connect me to James Yawn as the father of the Elizabeth Yawn who married Simeon B. Sheffield. Previously I have found a younger Elizabeth Yawn who was the daughter of James Yawn and Lucy Poole but I cannot offer verification of that at the moment. I have no DNA connection to either wife of James Yawn, however, I am half-cousins to the descendants of those wives.

Yawn-79 and Yawn-17 are not ready to be merged because: I’ve found no proof of DNA from Yawn

So the spouse should be removed from the other Elizabeth Yawn, right?

Yawn-79 and Yawn-17 do not represent the same person because: The daughter Elizabeth of James Yawn and Lucy Poole is a different Elizabeth (married a Godwin) than the one who married Simeon’s Sheffield.

Yawn-79 and Yawn-17 appear to represent the same person because: Same name, exact same spouse on both profiles, same birth state
