My GG Grandfather Samuel Yates. Samuel, along with his brother, my GG Uncle Nathaniel Jr. and their father my GGG grandfather, Nathaniel Sr..Fought in the Civil War. Samuel enlisted September 6, 1862 in the CSA, Co. H 60th North Carolina, State troops. April 12, 1865, the 60th surrendered at Greensboro, with 75 soldiers. Nathanial Jr. Joined CSA Cav. 5th Bn. Co A. North Carolina.
