Biography

He was born about 1754 in Johnston County, North Carolina and was the son of Carolyn (Nettles) and Jacob Yelverton.

Zadok Yelverton married about 1776 in Johnston County, North Carolina to Orpah Pugh.

He died on 17 Jan 1822 in Johnston County, North Carolina, USA.

Only two of his sons, John and Jessie, changed the surname spelling from Yelverton or Yelvington to Elvington.

In looking through some files, I added the Revolutionary War payment voucher information for Zadok Yelverton. I did not find him in the DAR database, but it is worth applying for if interested in DAR or SAR for him based on the payment voucher.

Donald, Zadok is my gggg Grandfather, through his son Asa to my maternal grandmother, Nancy Ann (Parlee) Elvington Brannon, married to Nathan Almarine Brannon. I have a cousin, Mickie Elvington Brown who had done the DNA test. She has a page in WikiTree. You may want to check her out.
