Biography

Frederick was born in 1891. He was the son of Caleb Yeomans and Rachel Baker.

The 1910 census shows him in Massachusetts with his parents, single and working in the shoe industry.^[1] When he registered for WWI in 1917 he was still single, working as a photographer.^[2]

In 1920 Fred was living with his mother and his sister's family in Sacramento. He is listed as married, and a railroad clerk.^[3]

In Nov 1920 in Sacramento a Fred L. Yeomans was divorced by wife Marvelle G. Yeomans on grounds of desertion.^[4]

He married Lydia Schulz in 1925. They appear together in the 1930 census with no children present. His parents were from Massachusetts and Nova Scotia and hers from North Dakota. He was first married at 34 and she was 22, which doesn't quite add up for him, since he was married before 1920 and again in 1925.^[5]

There were two children listed in 1940. Oddly, Fred had aged only 2 years since 1930 while Lydia had not aged at all. Two of Lydia's sisters, Alma (21, North Dakota) and Alice (18, California) were with them.^[6]

By 1950 Fred was widowed. He aged 10 years this time (now 59) and the daughters were still with him.^[7]

Frederick passed away in 1953. He was a photographer in Sacramento, California, after arriving there about 1912. His participation in church choirs both in Boston and Saramento were mentioned in his obituary. Survivors were daughters Lillian May Yeomans of Sacramento and [omitted, probably living, may have an existing private profile]; sisters Mrs. W. E. Starkey of San Carlos, Mrs. W. M. Dillinger of Sacramento; brothers William S. of Southgate, Walter M. of Penryn, and George E. of San Francisco. He was to be buried in Masonic Lawn Cemetery.^[8]
