Lieut. John York Jr. served with Civil Service, Connecticut during the American Revolution.

John York was born July 30, 1744 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut. He was the first child of John York and Anna Brown.

He married 24 May 1770 at Stonington, Connecticut, Keturah Brown [Note: Wheeler (1900) published erroneously that 24 May 1770 was the birth date of Keturah Brown; this date was their marriage date, not her birth date; her birth data were 30 Aug 1752, daughter of Sarah (Chapman) & Ichabod Brown]. They had 10 children, all born at Stonington:

  2. Thomas York, b. 24 Feb 1773
  3. Keturah York, b. 1 Jun 1775
  4. Ichabod York, b. 20 Oct 1777
  5. Martha Patty, or "Paltsey" York, b. 23 Feb 1780
  6. [Nancy or Anna York, b. 16 Jun 1782
  7. Lucinda York, b. 14 Feb 1785
  8. Sarah or "Sally" York, b. 20 Oct 1787
  9. Lydia York, b. 9 Aug 1790
  10. Lucy York, b. 15 Jul 1794

This family relocated to Brookfield, New York.

John York died 16 Jun 1820 at Bookfield, New York.
