Mary was born in March of 1866. She married Thomas G. Brown in 1884. They had four children, one boy, and three girls. In 1900, Mary's half-brothers, James and George Howard, were living as boarders in their household. Mary and George helped Mary's daughter, Margaret, obtain a divorce from Lawrence Ketroe. Thomas having died in 1901, Mary took her children and grandchildren to Anadarko, Oklahoma. By 1920, she moved to Oklahoma City where she died around 1925.
