William was born about 1894. He is the son of Richard York and Elizabeth West.
Enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces on 13 Sept. 1915, in Niagara, Ontario. His regimental number was 453714 and he served in the 58th Battalion. He sailed on the S. S. Safonia on 20 Oct. 1915. The records do not state what happened to him.
