I am an Executive Committee Member of the British Association for Cemeteries in South Asia and a trustee, Website and Social Media Manager for the Families in British India Society. I am also the administrator of the FIBIS DNA project. I have been researching my own family history since 1998 and set up the FIBIS DNA project in 2011 to help people with British Indian ancestry break through their brick walls as the cause is often an Indian ancestor, but there is no documentary evidence to prove it.

What do I do in my spare time? More genealogy, some of which I post on my blog. I am also currently digitising family photos, negatives, slides and documents which I share with family members via an experimental private website I built to synchronise with Adobe Lightroom. I use Lightroom to catalogue the records I digitise. I love experimenting with idea’s like this and although I am still fine-tuning things, it seems to be working really well.

As my area of expertise is India during the time of the British Raj, I also try to check the India Unsourced Profiles page once a week and see if I can source at least one profile, thereby removing it from the list of unsourced profiles.

Famous Cousins

A few of my famous cousins include:

US Presidents

UK Prime Ministers

Famous Mayflower cousins

Notable Cousins

Digital Afterlife

To aid WikiTree in the administration of my account should I be incapacitated, or in the event of my death, I hereby give permission for all private and public profiles I'm presently managing to be transferred community members on my trusted list or to the Leadership Team to be farmed out to any interested party or parties.

Hello Valmay, I don't think we've met. I was just re-alphabetizing the KIA Honor Roll and noticed that several of your entries were at the end of the roll instead of inserted where the fit alphabetically. You probably didn't realize that they were supposed to be done differently. I fixed the ones you had out of order, but just thought I'd let you know for future work. Thank you. Regards for 2019!

By the way we are 9th Cousins 2x removed through Nathaniel Bassett.

Valmay, if you look in the 'Find' menu, then click 'Projects', you may be able to locate a project that will help you make contact with other members working in similar areas. I don't see a project about India, but there are European projects.

Also, you may find our DNA Features page of interest.
