Hello Jake,

I hope you're enjoying WikiTree.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Always look for Duplicates before adding a profile.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree.

Our Help Index covers topics you may have questions about.

Our G2G Forum is where many of our generous members help each other out.

p.s. I don't know the extent of coding used beneath WikiTree. I was pretty good at html when I joined, but WikiTree uses different coding for text display. I go to http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Editing_Tips when I need a reminder of how to do something in WikiTree. And it doesn't sound like you'll need it, but there's a WikiTree Markup Manual at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/PDF_Help (and videos at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Video_Help).

G2G would be the place to start to see if any coding work needed to be done. Templates is about as complicated as I got (see http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/tag/templates ); there's also a "tech" tag, as well as a category. To see posts under the tag, go to http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/tag/tech

Thanks again for joining us, and thanks for offering to help!

Welcome Jake!

I'm glad you found us. To become a full member (aka Wiki Genealogist), you’ll need to sign the Honor Code. For a list of helpful links, click my name and check out the "Greeter" section-especially the Sources links and the link to my fellow greeter Debby, who has helpful information on her profile page also.

If you get stuck on anything and can't find an answer in WikiTree Help or How to Use WikiTree, you can post to G2G or give me a holler.

Thank you for joining our collaborative tree! Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.

Enjoy!

I agree the the mission statement and will abide by the 9 simple rules.

I want to add some pictures I have of my ancestors. I can write Perl and Python code and can contribute code if you have a need. I am also a linux/Solaris administrator and support enterprise unix servers.
