George and Nora moved before 1888 from Rockbridge County with 100 other families to Texarkana, Texas by train and then to Austin, Texas and the panhandle by covered wagon. They stayed four years before returning to the Rockbridge area before 1888.
Moved with George to Dayton, Ohio in about 1916 and then to New Burlington, Ohio.
