Biography

Josephine Isabella Young was born in West Wycombe, Buckinghamshire on 29 October 1874. Her birth was registered in Wycombe, Buckinghamshire in the fourth quarter of 1874[1].

At the time of Queen Victoria's visit to Slough, Berkshire on 22 June 1887 as part of the celebration of her golden jubilee, H. Savill Young was rector of Upton-cum-Chalvey, and was presented to the Queen. His daughter Isabella (possibly Josephine Isabella, who would have been 14 years old at the time) presented a bouquet to the Queen[2].

At the time of the 1891 England and Wales Census, Henry Savill, Rebecca I., Henry B., Josephine I., Laurence C. H., Evelyn L., Basil A., Hugh G., George E.S., Frances I., and Alison P. Young were listed as living in Chalvey, Buckinghamshire, along with five servants[3].

Josephine married Marcus Slade in Englefield, Berkshire on 8 August 1901. Their marriage was registered in Bradfield in the third quarter of 1901[4].

Josephine's death was registered in Eton, Buckinghamshire in the third quarter of 1972[5].
