Biography

Bought 80 acres of land in SW qtr. SE qtr. Sec. 13 T9N R13W and NE qtr. NW qtr. Sec. 24 T9N R13W Greene County, IL, from Robert H. and Martha Scoggins for $200 on 3 Feb 1842. Mortgaged 80 acres of land in sections 13 and 24 T9N R13W Greene County, IL in 1847. Borrowed $100 from the Trustees of Schools T9N R12E. This is the same land purchased by William Y. Young from Carrington Harris in 1837.

Lived near Williamsville, Sangamon County, IL at the time of his daughter Laura's birth, 12 Sept 1850.

Moved to Montgomery County IL in 1860.

Sold 80 acres of land in sections 13 and 24 T9N R13W Greene County, IL to Nathaniel E. Young for $650. (Greene County Deed Book DD, p. 502

Listed as father of Helena Amy Young, who was born on 31 Mar 1870 in Rubicon, Greene, Illinois. Mother's name was Amanda Helen Raffety Young.

Lived in Newton County, MO in 1873 at the time of his daughter, Laura's wedding to George C. Yocum.
