Anderson was the son of Thomas Jefferson Young and Cynthia Hamblin Young. he married Jincy Anderson. October 27, 1910 in Whitley County, Kentucky.
Anderson was the grandson of Silas Young and Nancy Hill Young , and Great-gandson of Aquilla Hill and Elizabeth Sweeny Hill. Anderson and Jincy had 13 children seven lived to be adults.
