Robert Young was born in Victoria, Australia

Robert was born in 1912,the son of George Ernest Young and Margaret Eliza Gibson.[1]

In 1938, Robert Alexander Young married Catherine Minnie Naylor.[2] Wedding Notice: WEDDING BELLS YOUNG — NAYLOR Miss Catherine M. Naylor, second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Naylor, of Epping, and Camperdown, made a charming bride for her marriage to Mr. Robert A. Young, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Young, of "Roseneath," Lyle street, Warracknabeal, which was celebrated on February 19, at St. Andrew's Kirk, Ballarat, by the Rev. Dr. C. N. Button. The lovely bridal frock was fashioned of creme brocaded net over a foundation of deep creme satin. The neckline was outlined with rich, creamy-tinted camellias, and the full skirt extended into a long, graceful train. Her beautiful flowing veil was arranged with a halo of camellias, and she carried a bouquet of cream roses and waterlilies. The bride's sister, Miss Erma Naylor, was bridesmaid. She wore a graceful frock of gold satin embossed with a spiderweb design and head dress of golden tulle caught with a spray of frangipani to match her lovely trailing bouquet. Mr. George Young, brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and the bride was given away by her brother, Mr. George Naylor (Camperdown). During the signing of the register, Mr. Norman McErvale sang "Because." After the ceremony a reception and wedding breakfast, followed by dancing, took place at the "Alexandria". The honeymoon was spent at Cowes.[3]
