Research Notes

He is possibly the Capt. Isaac Young who lived at Newport, Rhode Island and later Bristol, who married Joyce Smith. According to the gravestone of that Isaac, he was born around 1722. He also named his first recorded son George. This identification is given a small amount of further support by a gravestone at Bristol for Sarah Young, which reportedly names her parents Joseph and Lydia Young of Scituate. This is the only other known record of a Young family in Bristol from this time period, so it would not be surprising if Isaac and Joseph were kin. This Joseph was probably uncle of the present Isaac.
