Thanks, Anne.

I think it unlikely that Margaret (born 1789) married Robert Perrie (born 1826) and had a son (Alexander Bennett Perrie) in 1857. Margaret would have been 68 at that date. Michael

Thank you Michael for bringing this to my attention. I don't now why I have her as having a husband and child as my main tree is on Ancestry and I certainly don't have any marriage or child for her there. That is where I do all my research and save my documents. I have taken the marriage and child off her profile here.

There's something wrong here.

Margaret Young (Young-28866) is said to have been born at Stotfield on 11 Jun 1789, but to have been the daughter of another Margaret Young (Young-56843), born in 1821 in Buckie, herself apparently married to John Young (Young-10772), born in 1767 and who died at sea on 25 Dec 1806.

It may be as simple as an accidental transposition of the two Margaret Youngs, but without source references it's hard to be sure.

It's not clear why Margaret Edward (Edward-177) b. 24 Feb 1767 was removed as this Margaret Young's mother - see

"Scotland Births and Baptisms, 1564-1950", database, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VQ7H-47M : 16 September 2021), Margt. Edward in entry for Margaret Young, 1789.

which indicates that Margaret Young was born on the 6th and christened on the 11th Jun 1789 in Drainie - the parish which includes Stotfield to John Young an Margaret Edward.

My apologies Michael. I did confuse two Margarets. I have deleted the 1821 mother of the 1789 Margaret Young after having checked my main tree on Ancestry. John Young and Margaret McQueen are my 5th gr grandparents, however my line is through their daughter Janet. I have been trying to find out what happened to Janet Young (b 1770) and her mother Margaret McQueen (I have found one death for Margaret McQueen but am keeping an open mind on it) as Janet Young was married to William Crockett (my 4th gr grandparents) and both he and Janet's brother John Young (b 1766) died in the Stotfield fishing disaster. Janet and William had 5 children and on his death in 1806, the eldest was just 9, so I expect she may have remarried but pre 1855 this is proving hard to find. Janet just seems to have disappeared and during my lengthy searches for her I unfortunately have made a mistake in the Young line. I have fixed this now.
