Biography

On Nov. 2, 1822, Jesse was born in Ontario. Bob Peel had him born on Sept. 16, 1821. He was reported born in Toronto on his daughter’s death registration. Some family histories had his name as Justus but all known records used the name Jesse.

On Oct. 23, 1853, Jesse married Catherine N. Wyman (1826-1913) in 1853 in Illinois. Catherine was born in 1829 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Their children were Sarah Ann, Hettie, Isabelle, Verona, Henry L., Levi, Melvina and Antoinette.

On Nov. 5, 1902, Jesse died in Pilot Grove, Hancock Co., Illinois.

In 1913, Catherine died in Hancock Co.
