• portion of an article that appeared in the May 17, 1937 issue of the St. Charles (Kane County, Illinois) Chronicle, titled "Olden Burial Ground Found by Surveyor:" An unusual find by those engaged in laying out the property was a nearby graveyard, the tombstones having fallen down with the weight of years, but still showing the names of the deceased. On one slab is the inscription, "Jannet, wife of Samuel H. Young. Died March 17, 1844, aged 35 years." (The other stones were members of the Brown family.) "The old annals of St.Charles gives the names of the Young families who came here from New Brunswick in 1834, mentioning Samuel H. Young. There were several families of Youngs who came together at that time. Mrs. Moses Young and family, Stephen Young, D.C. Young, Miss Jerusha Young and Samuel Young and family all came in the fall of 1834."
