Nancy Ann Young was born on September 28, 1843. She was married to James Joseph Shannon on October 11, 1857. He had been born on March 26, 1830, in Humphreys County. His mother's maiden name was Johnson, and she is said to have been related to Andrew Johnson, 17th President of the United States. Joe (as he was called) died on March 6, 1895, and Nancy Ann was married (2nd) to Henry M. Ledbetter in September 1897. She died on December 23, 1923
