Biography

Naomi Young was born in 1906 to George Young and Zoetta Mangham.^[1][2] She married Ben Rusche and they lived as boarders in the home of Emison and Sarah Jones.^[3] By 1940, they had rented a home in Yazoo City and had two children: Benard and Bettie Ann.^[4]

Naomi passed away in 1969.^[5][6]

Research Notes

Naomi's grave stones seems to have gotten her birth year incorrect as all censuses of Naomi list her age at the time of the census as 1907 and in her mother Zoetta's obituary in March on 1907, Zoetta's baby daughter, who was almost certianly Naomi, was said to have been two months old^[7].
