Gilus Harold Young was born on May 21, 1927 in Arkansas, United States, son of Gifford McDonald (~1907– ) and Effie Adams (1895–1973).[1]
Gil was raised by and believed Everett Young to be his father. DNA testing has revealed that Everett was not his father, and rather it is likely a neighbor, Gifford McDonald, was his biological father.
Gil married Billie Ruth Norman (born on October 25, 1928 in Byers, Clay, Texas; daughter of Nat Flemming Norman and Addie Mabel (Lawrence) Trawick). Their children were:
