Barbara Ann Young was born in 1871 in Caledonia, Haldimand, Ontario, Canada and grew up in Oneida, Haldimand, Ontario.[1] She was the daughter of Stephen Young and Emily Griffith.
In the 1881 census Barbra Ann Young (age 9), was living with her father Stephen (age 34), mother Emily (age 31), and siblings Ida (12), Charles F (11), Stephen (7), Lesley (5), and Alberta (3) in Oneida, Haldimand. They were German, and were of C Methodist faith.[2][3]
In the 1901 census, Barbara A Hotson (age 29), was living with her husband George (age 41), children Harold (5), Ethel I (1), and lodger Lillie Hotson (age 22). They lived in Brantford, Brant, Ontario.[5]
In the 1911 census, Barbara Hotson was living with her husband George (age 51), children Harold (16), Ethel (11), Vera (3), and boarders Henry Hotson (age 76), and Bella Marshal (age 21), in Brantford, Ontario.[6]
In 1921 her parents Stephen and Emily were renting a place beside them.[7]
Barbara passed away in 1937 at the age of 64 years old[8] and is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford, Brant, Ontario.[9]
