Frances Rose Rinke (nee Young), 97, of Grosse Pointe Woods, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, in St. John Hospital, Detroit. She was born June 4, 1908, in Detroit.
She was predeceased (07 Nov. 1985) by her husband, Edgar Sr.; grandson, Joseph Rinke; and seven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Rinke, the last of eight children, grew up on a farm located at Seven Mile and Hayes roads in Detroit. She met her husband-to-be in 1925 and also drove cars for his business, Rinke Motors. They both had a love for travel, including frequent business travel to Austria, Germany, Japan, Norway, Copenhagen. She also enjoyed many summers at her cottage at the Old Club on Harsens Island.
