Research Notes
Based on the above will with the listed children, the information given in his Find A Grave memorial is incorrect. It has also been indicated that the parents attached to his Find A Grave memorial are also incorrect.[6] Included in the Find A Grave entry is this summary of a researcher's thoughts on the matter.[7] This will information also indicates that the 1810 Census in Stafford County, Virginia is not for this William Young. Parents: Bryant Young Spouse: Patience Sinclair
The William Young who married Patience Sinclair was not the son of Michael Cadet Young. He was the son of Bryant Young. Michael Cadet Young did have a son named William, but he married Martha Hubbard and, according to family letters, which I have seen and copied at the University of North Carolina, Michael Cadet Young's son was alive well after the William Young, who married Patience Sinclair was dead.
I don't know how the incorrect information about Michael Cadet Young's son got started, but even though it is all over the internet and in numerous family trees, it is still incorrect. Please don't help to spread it further.

William Young was born between 1714 (making his mother about 13 at the time of his birth) to about 1723 which would make him about 21 at the time of his marriage in 1744.. In the "Comments" section, the support for his being born in 1714 was given as "William Young was not born in 1727 and he didn't marry when he was 17. He actually was born about 1714 in Stafford County, Virginia. and sold land in 1735, when he turned 21." by Janice X
As one of the original birth places was listed as Saint Andrews Parish, Brunswick, Virginia and another opinion presented that he was born in Stafford County, Virginia, I think the safest route until an original source is located for his birth county is to leave it as born in Virginia. BJS
