Biography

James was the son of Elizabeth Evans. He was the granson of James and Anna Younger Evans. He was named in 1820 in his grandfather's and in 1837 in his grandmother's ^[1] wills.

James apparently inherited a disability of some kind from his mother, as he is noted in the 1850 census as "idiotic." His mother and his Aunt Rachel also had some kind of disability which was noted in their father's will.
