Biography

John C. Yount, a farmer, moved to a new farm near Island City in 1911. He retired from farming in 1948. The ruins of his original barn still stand near Hwy M in Cooper Township, Gentry County. He later lived with his sister, Hattie McKeehan in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a member of the Alanthus Christian Church since 1890.
