Biography

Alice was born on 21 April 1907, in New Jersey, to Marcus Erdman Zane and Florence Pierson. ^[1]

In 1910, she was living with her parents and brother, at 232 North 7th Street, Camden, Camden County, New Jersey, which they owned. Marcus was a bookkeeper in a lumber company. ^[2]

In 1920, she was living at 6227 Pine Street, Philadelphia, with her parents, siblings, grandfather, and aunt. Her father was a lumber merchant. She and her siblings were in school. ^[3]

In 1930, she was living on a farm on Township Road, Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with her parents, siblings, grandfather, and aunt. She was a clerk at a flag factory. Her brother Charles was a truck driver for a baking company, her sister Grace was a clerk at an accessory store, and her father was a salesman for a lumber company. ^[4]

She married Charles Burgess Dorris. They had two children. ^[5]

In 1940, Charles and Alice were living at 1435 Astor Street, ward 6, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, with their daughter Grace. Charles was a salesman for a coke manufacturing company. ^[5]

On 25 October 1964, they published an announcement of their daughter's engagement. ^[6]

On 29 August 2000, she died, in Lansdale, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She was buried in Riverside Cemetery, Norristown, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. ^{[7] [1]}
