James was born in 1930. James is the child of Daniel Wyman and Blanche Boyd. [1]
James Charles "Jim" Zeiler, 80, of Ninemile, passed away peacefully at home with family at his side of natural causes on May 6, 2011.
He was born June 21, 1930, in Stevensville in the barn on the family homestead. He went to school in Round Butte for three years in a one-room schoolhouse riding a horse both ways, uphill in the snow. Deciding that there was other things calling for him in life than school, Jim helped his family work on the ranch in Round Butte (Ronan) and then left to work various construction jobs across the Northwest including working on Interstate 90 and the Libby dam.
After getting hurt in 1970 while working on the dam, he purchased land in the Ninemile Valley in 1971. In 1975 he bought a 1970 International Cab over semi, which he leased to Ringsby Trucking in Missoula. After driving for a couple years, he leased it to Davis Brothers (Trade Street Enterprise). In 1980, he decided that he could use his ingenuity to build all kinds of things and to help a really close friend, "Whispering" Bob Schall on his ranch in Arlee, which he loved dearly until 2001 when he wasn't able to continue. Jim was the type of person that no one could ever forget. He touched many lives in his years.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Blanche Zeiler; and by Ted, Boydie, Johnny, Charle, Hank, Paul and Bob, Elise.
Surviving him are Frank, Lyle and Minnie, all of Arlee; his children, Lorri (Mark) Rucker of Deer Lodge, Charlene (Richard) Berryman of Missoula, Paula (Ron) Schoening of Ninemile and Jesse Zeiler of Ninemile; grandkids Jeremiah Lester, Tony Baumbach, Gary Martin Jr. and Chandra Martin; great-grandkids Izaiah and Kaleb; two unborn great-grandchildren coming this year; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, at the Alberton Community Center 701 Railroad Ave., followed by a potluck. This is a celebration of his life. Please bring a story to share with us about Dad.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the family to cover final expenses at 32630 Piney Meadow Road, Huson, MT 59846.
