Biography

Lucy was the oldest person in the Lawrence County, Pennsylvania for many years. For nearly twenty years, her birthday would be celebrated by everyone in the community and usually an article about her, often a personal interview would be in the paper near her birthday. Many of these articles can be found online and tell the story of her life. The New Castle News on Ancestry.com is one of these newspapers.

Lucy was 102 when she passed away. Her death certificate names her place of burial as Lutheran Cemetery, Princeton, Pennsylvania. however no tombstone or written record of her burial is found there. Pleasant Valley Cemetery where her husband is buried had been a Lutheran Cemetery and it is believed that she is buried with him.
