Biography

Carl August, the son of Johan Fredrik Sitting in Tumba and his wife Anna Christina Stenmark, was born 4 June 1818.[1]

Carl August Sitting was a worker in Tumba. He moved to Stockholm in 1837.[2] In 1843 August Sitting lived in the quarter Stuten in Jakob parish, where he was a journeyman, working for the carpenter PG Axner.[3]

An LDS adherent, he emigrated from Sweden in 1859.[4] He was naturalized as a United States citizen in the Utah Territory on 2 February 1866.[5]

At the time of the US census 1880 carpenter Carl A Zitting lived in Weber, Utah Territory with his wife Wilhelmine and seven children.[6]

He passed away in 1894. [7]
