Maria Agnes Ziegler[1][2][3][4] was born 20 January 1860[1][3][4] in Roßbach, Hünfeld, Hessen, Germany[1][3][4] to Johannes Ziegler[1][3][4] and Maria Barbara (Hodes) Ziegler[1][3][4].
She married Fridolin Dehler[2][3] on 19 February 1884[1][3] in Kirchhasel, Hessen, Germany[1][3]. Their children included Augusta[2], who was born before their marriage[5], Anna[6], Joseph[7], Karl[8], Josephine[9], Karolina[10][11], Otto[12], Richard[13], Franziska[14], and Martha[15].
The family moved from Roßbach to Lehnerz, a district of Fulda in Hessen, in 1912 [15].
