"Pearl M. VanDolah was born July 28, 1892 on the old Zeigler farm one mile north of Argonia. She was the daughter of Agnes and Casper J. Zeigler. She attended the Argonia schools and grew to young womanhood in this community. In 1919 she became interested in detective work, which she engaged in, and worked for the American Express Company for a number of years. In 1924 she was united in marriage to Gus Leach. Mr. Leach passed away in 1935. After which Pearl lived with, and cared for her mother. She was married to W[illiam] A[rthur] VanDolah in May, 1939. Mr. VanDolah passed away April 6, 1962. Mrs. VanDolah has made her home for a number of years at the Masonic Rest Home in Wichita. She was a member of the Argonia Friends church and was active while living in Argonia, and carried many cherished memories of her many friends of this community. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and had received her 50-year pin. She is survived by three step-daughters...and four nephews."
Daughter of Casper J. Zigler (native of Germany b ca 1843) and Agnes unknown (native of Switzerland b ca 1851). Sister of Lizzie, Philip, Rosa, George, Dortha, William and H. C. Zigler.[1]
In 1910 she and her mother were the only members of the household.[2]
