Biography

Manja was born in 1903. She worked at the office of the Posania Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, ^{[1] [2]} where she met a young minister named Edmund Klut. They were married in 1925.

About 1929 Manja was pregnant with their first child. Childbirth was difficult, and baby Irene was lost. Maja developed blood poisoning, kidney infection, and brain fever brought on by complications of childbirth. She passed away in 1930 after a three month illness.

When she was sick, Manja made Edmund promise to take care of her younger sister, Zofia. Zofia was living with them, but had to move out after Manja's death to avoid a scandal. ^[3]
