Ryland Thomas Dillard Zimmerman fought in two wars, the War with Mexico a nd the Civil War. He was in the Northern Army. My Dad said they used t o call him "Hell Fire" for he was a preacher, evidently of the brimston e type. He lived and preached in Owingsville, KY, where I have seen re cords of his works at the alter. He applied for a pension from both wa rs, evidently in Mexico he became ill with a Montezuma revenge which he k ept his lifetime. Ryland Thomas Dillard Zimmerman fought in two wars, t he War with Mexico and the Civil War. He was in the Northern Army.

Have a map in 1880 of Owingsville showing that RTD lived where what is n ow called Hwy 36 on the east side of the road just south of Prickly As h Creek and North of an Lee Branch..
