Biography
Agnes was born January 22,1892. She is the daughter of Frederich Zimmermann and Elizabeth Tessman. [1]
Her middle name was actually given as Amalia - the Prussian equivalent of Emily. Agnes used the anglicized version (Emily) throughout her life, though it seems she preferred to be called Adelaine (Adily).
Her occupation on the 1940 Federal Census reads "Trained nurse, Private cases".
In her early life, Agnes married and divorced three times in a short span of years - to men quite senior to her in years. We know that at least the first of them was an acquaintance of her father, a practice common in those years.
Agnes is remembered by one granddaughter as being a very proper person who abstained from alcohol and cared for others.
